Short summary: This house is wonderful; I loved this house. Beautiful and well-equipped interior; serene, very private, and gorgeously landscaped tropical grounds; fantastic open water views; super nice owners that we met briefly; great realtor/manager ready to help with anything. OK, details. This house is on the ground floor which is super if one might want to avoid the constant up and down up and down of most Keys stilt houses. The inside has recently been TOTALLY renovated, all new and high quality everything! Beautiful floors, beautiful baths, charming art on the walls. Did I mention I love this house? The layout is great. 3 bedrooms 2 with super comfy king beds, one with a kids 4 bunk bed configuration, each with its own bath. The kitchen is very well equipped. Lots of high-quality dishes, plenty of new silverware, lots of new wine glasses, and if you want to cook (as we do), I must say we were very impressed to find it actually had a zester! A zester in a rental. We were amazed. Just an aside, there were also welcoming toiletries. this may sound a bit silly, but after driving from up north for days, having all you need on arrival is deeply appreciated. I think the realtor probably provided these, but I dont know for sure. But, if she did, I just want to say. hire her! OK, now the outside. There is a screened in patio made of soothing stone (probably travertine), where one can sit and take in the scenery. Concrete steps go down to the sound. We took kayaks (2 nice ones supplied as part of the rental), and then tooled around the sound looking at the crystal-clear waters looking for tropical fish or even upside-down jelly fish. On one side of the house is an outdoor pavilion, with fans with bar, horse shoe, and outdoor kitchen. Who needs to go anywhere else? The overall outside of the house has a stone surround with serene architectural views everywhere you look. Location. This is about a half hour from Key West. I took an excellent oil painting class at the Studios of Key West, and you can find all the shopping, great restaurants, and cultural activities you wish. The house is in a really nice neighborhood, with bike trails, a Wednesday farmers market, and a nature preserve at the end of the road (5 mile loop, jumping bridge, and Sammys park all worth exploring)
